The Quarantined Life: Hoarders and Personal Space Issues
At some point.
In the near future.
Hope........... We are searching for hope. Not the character "Hope" on NBC's Days of Our Lives whom has died and resurrected on numerous occasions. Here in Pennsylvania, we are HOPING for SPRING. Waiting. Longing. Desiring. Anticipating. It has been a long winter with lots of snow. And more snow. And more snow. Spring officially began just a few days ago. We are spiritually and mentally hungry.
This world is not enough.
The temporary peace and comforts that we seek out in technology, food, hobbies--it is not enough. The temporary peace in that extra slice of cake or that additional drink--it doesn't last. It numbs the pain but does not bring healing. We are continually starving in a spiritual way. We forget that the Race we run is eternal. We forget that God never gave up on us.
We have settled for good ole' Insta-God. Make a few wishes and move on. How's that working for all of us? Horrible. Nightmare. God can't give us everything we desire. It would be like the movie "Bruce Almighty". Everyone won the lottery therefore no one won much at all. Hope. We keep hoping for quick fixes. And Insta-God.
Here's what happens with hope in weak things. It cracks. We crack. Imagine this.......... When you use the stove or Crock Pot, food takes longer. Yet, it tastes much better than using the microwave. Throw some meat in the microwave. It's done but not great tasting. We are often seeking a microwave faith. If we can't have it all now, screw it. Fast food places let us customize our sandwiches. Starbucks allows you to customize your lattes, frappacinos, And other coffee drinks. We customize our homes, cars, even our cell phones.
Where is your hope?
I challenge you to have a faith of your own. Don't be a carbon copy of your parents' faith or friends' faith. That's boring. Put your hope in God. This world will offer temporary hopes. Then again, our time on Earth is temporary. Hope. Know where you find IT.
